BIO:
Vicki Wilmarth is an employment lawyer with more than 30 years of experience practicing full-time in Amarillo, Texas. She is a partner at the law firm of Wright Wilmarth Byrd. Vicki advises employers on personnel policies and employment practices and trains managers in appropriate hiring, discipline, and firing techniques. She provides in-house and community training on employment law issues, such as preventing sexual harassment and reasonably accommodating employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. Furthermore, she audits the personnel practices of businesses to discern areas where future employment law problems could arise.
Vicki also represents businesses in employment-related disputes, including defending them in discrimination, harassment, overtime and unemployment cases. She advocates for clients in front of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Texas Workforce Commission and other governmental agencies.
Vicki grew up in Arlington, Texas. She received a journalism degree from Baylor University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston. In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy camping in national and state parks and she is an award-winning nature photographer.
