HR as a Leader: Creating an Environment Where Top Talent Thrives - EXTENDED LUNCH SESSION

Julie Burch
Leadership has evolved. Successful leaders must do the same. HR Professionals are no longer left to mid-level management-- in today's business environment HR is in the C-Suite and leading organizational change. Leaders are responsible for creating the environment and upholding the culture of the organization. The top-down, “I’m the boss that’s why” approach of old school leadership is over. Today, leaders are required to be empathetic, inclusive, high impact communicators and people first visionaries. So, what does it take to be successful? To attract and retain the best talent effective leaders will create an environment that has a people first approach. Sustaining a positive workplace culture means leaders must be proactive and intentional. Intentionally creating an environment that celebrates the attitudes and actions that lead to success. In this session the audience will learn what that environment must include, how to create it, and how to sustain it.
Participants will leave with:
The evolution of leadership - why it changed and where we are today.
How the model of empathic leadership creates a team that thrives on diversity.
How to use basic skills like delegation and disciplinary action to create a high impact team.
